Harlem, NY (77WABC)-A 31-year-old Harlem woman who was 9 months pregnant, was shot and killed as she returned home from her baby shower. Police say Shanice Young’s ex partner and the father of her fetus were arguing near the woman’s apartment on West 128th St. as she carried her shower gifts into the building.
One of the two men fired a gun, striking Young in her head.
Police say it was Young’s ex who pulled out a gun around 1:15 am Sunday fatally striking the woman. Her unborn child also died.
An investigation continues to determine who actually pulled the trigger. No charges have been announced.
Young was a mother to two other children.
A memorial has been set up at West 128th Street and Frederick Douglas Blvd. where the shooting occurred.
