Queens, NY (77WABC)-Dramatic video captured on a rescuers body cam shows a 47-year-old man being rescued from a storm drain in Queens.
The man was walking in the area where there is no sidewalk when he plunged 30 feet near the Cross Island Parkway and Whitestone Expressway around 8 am Sunday. His brother met emergency service personnel at the scene.
Highly trained members of the Emergency Services Unit and the FDNY were called in the help the man who was trapped in water.

It took rescuers approximately twenty minutes to free the man. He was conscious and alert when rescue but is believed to have suffered a laceration and possibly a broken leg. Following the rescue, the FDNY and the NYPD held a joint press conference:

The man was taken to nearby Boothe Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
