Nancy Pelosi on the Child Tax Credit – Washington
Washington, D.C. (77WABC) – A White House official and a staff member for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi both tested positive for COVID-19 after attending the same reception last week.
“Yesterday, a fully vaccinated White House official tested positive for COVID-19 off-campus,” the White House official said in a statement to Axios. “The staffer is self-isolating according to “rigorous COVID-19 protocols.”
“The White House Medical Unit has conducted contact tracing interviews and determined no close contacts among White House principals and staff. The individual has mild symptoms,” the official added.
Pelosi’s office confirmed that the senior aide tested positive after meeting with a group of Texas Democrats who came to Washington last week to block voting legislation they oppose.
Yesterday, I tested positive for COVID-19. What this highlights is the risk every @TexasHDC member continues to face to defend the state we love and the Texans we represent.
Despite my setback, I will continue to push forward and fight for every Texan to have their voices heard

Six of them have now tested positive for COVID-19. The Texas lawmakers also met with Vice President Kamala Harris, who was not at risk of exposure.
