A Bronx Teen Killed in What Police say was a “Gang” Takedown

Bronx, NY (77WABC)-A 13-year-old Bronx teen standing outside of Angels Cafe  at 743 East 187 Street Sunday afternoon met his death. NYPD Chief Rodney Harrison said it was a gang-related shooting and that the teen was the intended target.

Police say the teen is  identified as Jaryan Elliot of 2375 Southern Boulevard. He was shot in his chest and leg. Police received a 911 call of a person shot, finding the  youth with gunshot wounds. Elliott was transported by EMS to the hospital where he was pronounced dead of gunshot wounds to his torso and leg.

Police did not say if Elliot was a member of a rival gang.

There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
