NY: Hudson Yards Vessel Sculpture Closed After Third Suicide
Mayor Bill de Blasio and Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro will award medals to FDNY firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, fire marshals, and officers on Wednesday.
The ceremony will take place at the Louis Armstrong Stadium – USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens at 11 a.m. Firefighter Abraham Miller will get the Chief of Department Peter J. Ganci Medal and the NYS Honorary Fire Chiefs Association Medal for rescuing a child trapped by smoke and fire from a six-story building.

Other members who will be getting medals from fighting that fire are: firefighter Jairo Sosa, firefighter Robert Caponigro, firefighter Jose Castro, firefighter Philip Ingwersen, firefighter Thomas Elsasser, and Lieutenant Robert Brown.
