New York, NY (77WABC)-In a six-hour span on Memorial Day, there were a total of seven shootings in NYC’s five boroughs. A 15-year-old male was killed and a 30-year-old man hurt when a gunman opened fire in East Harlem around 10:30 pm at 123rd and Lexington Avenue.
The NYPD this morning identified the teenager killed as Amir James of 376 Ogden Avenue in the Bronx, NY.
James was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital after being rushed there by Emergency Medical Services. The 30-year-old man was also taken to Harlem Hospital after being shot in his knee.
A 15-YEAR-OLD shot and killed! A young life lost and another family destroyed due to NYC gun violence. City & Albany pols will continue to do nothing and violent criminals will remain emboldened. As the police try to keep people safe, laws need to change. https://t.co/qGb0IZfkVc
