Glen Cove, NY (77WABC)-Police say a 47-year-old Glen Cove man, Alex Kirton, faces charges of arson and attempted murder for allegedly setting his residence at 14 Raymond St. on fire last Friday morning while his roommates were inside.A 41-year-old roommate is reportedly in critical condition with second and third-degree burns as a result of the fire. A second roommate, a 68-year-old man, was also injured but has since been released from the hospital where he was treated for smoke inhalation. The names of the fire victims have not been released.
Kirton was arrested Saturday. He has been arraigned in Mineola Court.
Authorities have not released a motive in the case.
