Bronx, NY (77WABC)-The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect seen in the attached photo and video in connection with a homicide in the Bronx, NY.
On Friday, April 23, 2021, shortly before midnight, opposite 1535 Taylor Avenue, an unidentified male exited a black Mercedes-Benz SUV and approached the victim, 35-year-old Jason Rivera of 302 Broadway of Staten Island. Police say the suspect then quickly doubled back and discharged multiple rounds from a handgun, striking the victim in his head and torso. The unidentified male fled towards White Plains Road in the black Mercedes-Benz SUV.
EMS transported the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.
The attached photos and video were taken in the immediate vicinity of the homicide. Police say the unidentified male is 5’07” to 5’08” and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, tan pants, and white-and-black sneakers:
