Bronx, NY (77WABC)-A 52-year-old Brooklyn woman, Lizbeth Mass, was fatally shot six times at a City Island Construction site by a gunman on a bicycle. Her boyfriend chased the gunman, down striking him with his vehicle, beat him, and held him until police arrived.
The fatal shooting happened Wed. April 14th, 2021 around 12:30 in the afternoon. at City Island Ave. and City Island Road. The woman worked at the construction site directing traffic. Police say the motive for the killing is unclear. Detectives do not think there was any relationship between the woman killed and the alleged gunman.
Police say the 67-year-old gunman is identified as 66-year-old Jose Everaldo Reyes of 150th St. in the Bronx. He is charged with 2nd degree murder, manslaughter, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon.
