An Alleged Serial Killer From NJ Appears In Court On A Murder Charge In A Fatal Hammer Attack

Gloucester County, NJ (77WABC)-An alleged serial killer appeared via videoconference before a Gloucester County Judge on Thursday. 47-year-old Sean Lannon’s appearance was procedural in nature. He remains held on a murder charge pending an indictment in the fatal hammer attack of 66-year-old Michael Dabkowski.

Prosecutors alleged Lannon broke into Dabkowski’s home and fatally attacked him. Lannon told detectives Dabkowski had sexually abused him as a child and that he had gone to Dabkowski’s home to retrieve sexually explicit photos. Prosecutors have not confirmed that claim but are investigating it.

Dabkowski was killed on  March 8th at his home in East Greenwich NJ. His body was discovered by officers performing a wellness check.

Lannon is also charged with the deaths of his ex-wife 39-year-old Jennifer Lannon and two other people in New Mexico.

The bodies of the four murder victims were found decomposing in an abandoned pickup truck at an Albuquerque, New Mexico airport garage on March 5th, 2021.

The bodies found with Lannon’s ex-wife are her friends, 21-year-old Matthew Miller, 21, and 40-year-old Jesten Mata.

No charges have been filed yet in the death of the fourth person found in the car, 60-year-old Randal Apostalon. Investigators say Apoltalon was homeless and living in his car offering people rides in exchange for cash.

Lannon was arrested in St. Louis Missouri on March 10th of this year.

During a court appearance in NJ last month, a prosecutor said Lannon had told a relative he had killed a total of 16 people. Those claims have not been substantiated.
