(CT/77WABC)-CT. Gov. Ned Lamont announced late last night that the state of CT has suffered its first death from the Covid 19 variant. The individual has not been identified.
The Governor, on Monday’s one year anniversary of the state’s first Covid 19 case, made the following announcement:

Gov. Lamont continued to urge people to remain vigilant when it comes to social distancing. Three separate Covid-19 vaccinations are available to state residents but remain in short supply at this time.
CT has identified a total of 81 cases of the UK variant strain.
According to the Johns Hopkins Resource Center, the state has 287,396 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 7,725 deaths. More than 1.2 million Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in CT with 344,999 people in the state fully vaccinated or 9.66% of the state’s population. The state’s positivity rate stands at 4.36%.
