NYPD-Update
(Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY/77WABC)-The NYPD has charged a 27-year-old Brooklyn Mother after police found her newborn dead in a dumpster, behind a West 27th Street apartment building just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say Jahmika Small of 2929 West 28th St., Apt. #810B in Coney Island, allegedly call 9-1-1 distraught telling police that her infant was missing.
Pursuant to the ongoing investigation, police say Small is charged with reckless endangerment and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17 years of age.
The medical examiner will determine the official cause of death. The sex of the newborn has not yet been released.
It is unknown if Small, who was arrested within the confines of the 60th Precinct in Brooklyn, has obtained counsel.
