NEW YORK (77WABC) – Are the bad old days of New York City back? Petty crime like shoplifting and simple assault are up. Graffiti seems everywhere and in the past week alone there have been five subway slashings and that’s not including the rash of subway shovings by emotionally disturbed individuals.
Also recently a New York City bus driver was knocked unconscious by a passenger wielding a 2×4. Robberies also increased in 2020 amid a pandemic, the homicides have doubled and shootings are up 100% meanwhile ridership is down 70%.
🚨WANTED for ASSAULT: On 2/9 at 7:50 am, on the platform of the 174 St station in the Bronx, a 54-year-old female was pushed onto the track roadbed. She suffered cuts & bruising to her hands & body.
