NEW JERSEY (77 WABC) – Monday’s weather alerts called for high wind warnings and even a tornado warning throughout the tri-state area. Wind gusts hitting the area have reached nearly 90 MPH, and these warnings remain in effect until about 6 p.m. this evening.
Jersey Shore areas have already seen some damage. South Jersey shore towns Wildwood and Cape May are pictured below.

Over 50,000 in the state have reported power outages as of 1 p.m.
16 of New Jersey’s 21 counties are under a Tornado Watch until 6 p.m. Only the north eastern part of the state is without that warning, but the High Wind warning remains in effect.
