NEW YORK (77 WABC) — The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in New Jersey have jumped to 50. Governor Phil Murphy said the state received 21 new presumptive positive results since yesterday.
Earlier in the day, state health officials said of the latest people who tested positive was a 16-year-old girl from Englewood.
Murphy said all gatherings of more than 250 people should be canceled in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The state’s Supreme Court also suspended all new jury trials until further notice.
Hoboken and Jersey City announced their first positive case of COVID-19.
Bergen County’s 75 school district are switching to at-home teaching for the foreseeable future.
