(New York, NY) — A man and woman who were out on their first date Monday night were carjacked in Manhattan. Police say the two were sitting in a BMW around 3 a.m. near 38th street and 7th Avenue, when two men came up to the car and told them to get out of the vehicle. The 23-year-old driver of the BMW was pistol whipped as he stepped out of the car. His date was not harmed.
Police say the pair of wanted thieves took off in the BMW, out of Manhattan and up to the Bronx. Cops tracked them as the drove on the Major Deegan Expressway. At some point, the pair bailed out of the vehicle and took off on foot. They were last seen near West 240th Street and Van Cortlandt Park. Police have not caught up with them.
