Criminal defense lawyer David Schoen, who represented President Donald Trump in his impeachment trial, joins The Roger Stone Show on 77WABC Radio to discuss why the charges against crypto pioneer Roger Ver are fatally flawed and should be dismissed.
Schoen argues that Ver's prosecution is completely politically motivated and that the charges against Ver for tax evasion are based on an incorrect and fraudulent calculation of the expatriation tax Ver paid when he was forced to renounce his U.S. citizenship because of the relentless targeting against him by a politicized Justice Department. Stone argues that this tax needs to be reformed.
Schoen points out that Ver had a formal opinion from one of the country's leading tax law firms advising him on his tax payments, and Roger Stone notes that the FBI raided Roger Ver's tax attorney's office to seize his tax records in violation of the 6th Amendment of the United States Constitution.
Stone says the outcome of Ver's legal fight will have enormous repercussions for the future of the cryptocurrency industry.
