On this Friday edition of Bernie & Sid in the Morning, Sid and Danielle Rosenberg put on their first Spotlight Foundation for Dyspraxia and Developmental Coordination Disorder Fundraiser Radiothon here at 77 WABC, in honor of their son Gabriel who suffers from Dyspraxia. Dyspraxia is a common disorder that affects movement and co-ordination. Dyspraxia does not affect your intelligence. It can affect your co-ordination skills – such as tasks requiring balance, playing sports or learning to drive a car. In the U.K., dyspraxia is treated just as autism is treated here in the states. Sid and Danielle's mission is to raise awareness of the disability here in the United States, so that one day everybody with dyspraxia here in America can rest assured that their limitations will have less of an impact on their efforts to live a fulfilling life. Danielle Rosenberg, Priscila Tamplain, Alison Esposito, Chris Matthews and Eric Sugar join the program, and make sure you don't miss the Bernie & Sid in the Morning debut of Brendan and Melanie McGuirk. Bernie's children join Sid for a full hour on today's program, bringing McGuirk and Rosenberg back together in the studio. Sid, Brendan and Melanie shared heartfelt stories of the man that was Bernie McGuirk, and how he shaped his two remarkable children into the people they are today.
