Avi Kaner employs over 1,200 people via his Morton Williams Supermarket chain and was also elected Second Selectman (Deputy Mayor) of Westport, Connecticut. He is involved in all aspects of the Morton Williams operation, including negotiations, managing relationships with landlords, banks, unions, technology, and legal teams. Morton Williams has also funded multiple solar-powered water well systems in Africa, bringing fresh water for the first time to tens of thousands of people.
