Flight Attendant Survives LaGuardia Plane Crash After Being Thrown from Aircraft

reuters-15

A flight attendant survived a deadly crash at New York’s LaGuardia Airport after being thrown over 300ft from the plane during impact.

The incident involved Air Canada Express Flight 8646, which collided with a fire truck while landing. The crash resulted in the deaths of both pilots and left multiple people injured, including passengers and crew members. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, and several injured individuals were transported to hospitals.

One of the survivors, flight attendant Solange Tremblay, was seated in her jump seat at the time of the crash. According to reports, she was still strapped into her seat when the impact sent her a significant distance from the aircraft. Despite the severity of the crash, she survived with injuries, including a fractured leg, and is expected to recover.

Experts note that flight attendant jump seats are specially designed with reinforced structures and secure restraint systems to help withstand extreme forces during emergencies. These safety features may have played a role in her survival.

The crash is currently under investigation as officials work to determine exactly what led to the collision. The incident caused major disruptions at LaGuardia Airport, including delays and temporary closures as crews worked to manage the aftermath.
