(Chappaqua, New York) – Hillary Clinton testified Thursday that she had no knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and does not recall ever meeting him — even as photographic evidence has surfaced showing the two at the same events.
“I had no idea about their criminal activities. I do not recall ever encountering Mr. Epstein,” Clinton said in an opening statement shared publicly as she began a closed-door deposition before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
The testimony comes amid renewed scrutiny of high-profile figures connected to Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
Photos Complicate the Claim
While Clinton maintains she does not recall encountering Epstein, photographs from public events in the early 2000s appear to show them in the same settings, including gatherings tied to the Clinton Foundation.
Clinton has acknowledged interacting with Maxwell at foundation-related conferences and confirmed that Maxwell attended Chelsea Clinton’s 2010 wedding. However, she has consistently said she has no memory of meeting Epstein personally.
The contrast between her statement and publicly available images has fueled fresh debate online as clips of her deposition remarks circulate.
