(Santa Clara, California) – Just days before Bad Bunny is set to headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show at Levi’s Stadium, the global superstar is facing a $16 million lawsuit alleging unauthorized use of a woman’s voice in multiple songs.
The lawsuit was filed earlier this month in San Juan, Puerto Rico, by Tainaly Y. Serrano Rivera, who claims recordings of her voice were used without consent or a signed agreement in Bad Bunny’s music. The timing places the legal dispute squarely in the spotlight as the artist prepares for one of the most high-profile performances of his career.
According to the complaint, Serrano Rivera alleges she sent audio recordings to producer Roberto J. Rosado via WhatsApp in 2018. She claims those recordings were later incorporated into the hit song Solo de Mà and the more recent track EoO, which appears on Bad Bunny’s Grammy-winning album Debà Tirar Más Fotos.
The lawsuit further alleges that Serrano Rivera’s voice was not only used in studio recordings but also during live concert performances, all without her permission or compensation. She is seeking $16 million in damages.
As of publication, Bad Bunny and his legal team have not publicly responded to the allegations. The artist recently appeared at the Grammy Awards, where he accepted the award for Best Música Urbana Album, and has continued preparations for his Super Bowl performance, which he has previously described as a moment representing his culture on a global stage.
The case remains pending in Puerto Rico, with no court date publicly announced.
