(Ann Arbor, MI) — The former head football coach at the University of Michigan is in hot water. Sherrone Moore was fired “with cause” on December 10th. The school fired Moore over an alleged inappropriate relationship with a staff member, which is a violation of university policy. But the story doesn’t end there.
Shortly after his firing, 39-year-old Moore was detained by police in connection with an alleged assault and they threw him in jail. However, as of Thursday morning no charges had been filed.
According to the New York Post, John U. Bacon, an instructor at the university (who has written six books about the school’s legendary football program) posted on “X” that Moore’s paramour had given university leaders “irrefutable documentation” detailing Moore’s conduct.
Meantime, the university has named Biff Poggi as the program’s interim head coach. Moore took over for Jim Harbaugh, who left for the NFL, in 2023.
Moore has been married to wife Kelli since 2015 and is a father of three daughters.
