Award Winning Actress Diane Ladd Dies

(Ojai, CA) — Actress Diane Ladd is dead at the age of 89. Her death was confirmed in a statement by her daughter actress Laura Dern.

Ladd was nominated for best supporting actress at the Academy Awards three times for her roles in “Alice Doesn’t Live Here”, “Wild at Heart” and “Rambling Rose.” She died at her home in California on Monday, November 3rd.

She was born Rose Diane Ladner to parents Preston Paul Ladner and Mary Bernadette Ladner. Her family name was shortened to “Ladd” in the entertainment industry, but she was often confused for actor Alan Ladd’s daughter. She was married to actor Bruce Dern.
