News: Christmas Eve in New York City
(New York, NY) — Some say it’s the image of the holiday season in Manhattan. Rockefeller Center’s ice skating rink is opening on Saturday, October 11th. The iconic rink, located on Fifth Avenue between 49th and 50th streets, lures tourists from all over the world. In a world of social media, the rink’s backdrop can’t be beat when it comes to getting “likes.” Tickets starts at 22-dollars per person and there’s an additional fee to rent skates, which are 12-dollars. The rink is open from 9 a.m. until midnight and during peak season, it sometimes opens at 7 a.m.
Officials with the rink will also work with people who want to get engaged on the ice. For a special fee, they’ll clear the ice as you “pop the question” and your special song will play.
