(Glendale, Arizona) – A memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk will be held in his home state of Arizona at State Farm Stadium on September 21st. Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at a Turning Point event at Utah Valley University on September 10th. The memorial service will be open to the public. President Trump is expected to attend.
A prayer vigil was also held on Capitol Hill for Charlie Kirk. The host of the service, House Speaker Mike Johnson, said we can all honor the conservative activist by living like he lived. Johnson said he wants all young people to advance his principles and adopt his approach.
The man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk is set to be in court September 16th. Tyler Robinson is expected to be arraigned on state murder charges in a Provo, Utah court in the afternoon. If he is formally charged with aggravated murder, that could make the 22-year-old eligible for the death penalty under Utah law. He’s also expected to be charged federally at some point. Robinson is accused of shooting and killing Kirk while the conservative activist was speaking at an outdoor Turning Point event at Utah Valley University last week.
