NY: Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood in Brooklyn In New York
(New York, NY) — NYPD cops really want to find the gunman who fired off a bullet that hit a 65-year-old woman as she walking to the grocery store in Flatbush, Brooklyn on Sunday. Police say that bullet was meant for someone else. The unnamed victim was walking near the corner of Foster and New York Avenues around 10 a.m. when bullets began whizzing by her. One ended up hitting her in the hip. EMTs rushed her to Kings County Hospital, where doctors were debating how to pull the bullet out of her hip area without causing her other problems.
Eyewitnesses say they saw the gunman, who seemed to be firing at some people outside an apartment building. No one else, beside the senior was injured in the hail of gunfire. The wanted gunman raced away from the scene in a black BMW. It’s not clear if he knew he had injured anyone.
