soccer

(New York, NY)  —  While it’s still a year away, organizers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup are swinging into high gear, as they get ready for an influx of soccer fans from around the world.  The United States, Canada and Mexico are co-hosting the FIFA World Cup, which comes every four years.  Next summer’s World Cup final is coming to Met Life Stadium

Alex Lasry is the CEO of the New York/New Jersey FIFA World Cup Host Committee and he told the TODAY Show they’re expecting millions of people coming to the area and they’re expecting two-to-three-billion-dollars  of economic impact for the region.  He adds he thinks this event can take soccer to the next level.
