Seven dangerous inmates are still on run

(New Orleans, LA) — Seven of the ten inmates who broke out of a New Orleans jail on Friday are still on the loose today. The reward for their capture is now 20 thousand dollars per inmate. The money has been been offered up by the FBI, ATF, Crime Stoppers, and contributions from State Senate President Cameron Henry.

The Orleans Parish Jail Sheriff Susan Hutton says the inmates must have received help from the inside to escape. Three guards have been suspended, but it’s not clear why. Authorities say there were defective locks inside the jail. The breakout was only discovered after a routine headcount.

Governor Landry has ordered the Louisiana Attorney General to investigate how the inmates escaped and who’s responsible. The inmates face various charges including murder, domestic abuse, and possession of a firearm.
