Lock the Clocks

syndication-south-bend-tribune-17
(Washington, DC)  —  There’s always some controversy regarding changing the clocks twice a year. Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are now pushing to lock the clocks.
Senator Ted Cruz led a bipartisan hearing this week, looking into the effects of time change.  The Texas Republican says it was meant to curb energy use, but studies show that’s not happening. A bill, dubbed the Sunshine Protection Act, would make daylight saving time the year-round standard.
Senator Cruz says when we lose an hour of sleep, it has a huge effect on our bodies, and studies have shown losing an hour of sleep leads to higher rates of heart attacks and strokes.
