(New York, NY) — New York City’s subway map is getting a major facelift for the first time since 1979.
MTA Chairman Janno Lieber says the new map features bolder colors and evident transfer stations for easier wayfinding throughout the system.
The new map was rolled out digitally in October and teams have been making last minute updates based on user feedback, saying crews will now start installing physical maps on trains over the next few weeks. Lieber says the new map symbolizes the major progress the MTA has made and is going to make with future investments.
