Random Slashing in Manhattan Subway Station

(New York, NY) – A 28-year-old woman is recovering after she was slashed inside an Upper East Side subway station. It happened during the evening rush on Monday night — at Lexington Avenue and East 86th Street. The woman was hospitalized as a result of her injuries.

Cops say the attack unfolded around 6:25 PM. The NYPD received a call concerning an active assault. Paramedics also responded and described the victim’s condition as “stable.”

The suspect has been described as wearing a black ski mask. The attacker fled the scene afterwards. It’s not clear what led up to the incident. The victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center.
