NFL: Super Bowl LIX-Kansas City Chiefs at Philadelphia Eagles
(New Orleans, LA) — A Super Bowl halftime show dancer, who unfurled a Sudan-Palestinian flag during Kendrick Lamar’s mini concert is now being banned from all NFL stadiums. The backup dancer was grabbed by security guards and hauled off the field during the halftime show. Viewers at home did not see the flag. In a statement the NFL said, “No one involved with the production was aware of the individual’s intent.” Roc Nation, the company that produced the halftime show, also confirmed the act wasn’t planned and was never in any rehearsal. The protest came days after President Trump proposed a U.S. takeover of Gaza.
The Eagles are celebrating their second Lombardi trophy in franchise history. Philadelphia took down the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl 59 yesterday in New Orleans. In doing so, Philly prevented Kansas City from completing its quest for the league’s first-ever three-peat. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was named MVP.
