(Trenton, NJ) — Over the weekend, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy told a group of voters that he had an illegal immigrant living in his home. He was speaking before a group at Montclair State University Sunday when he made the comment. He did not give any specifics on the woman he claimed was living above his garage at his mansion in Middletown. He dared ICE to come in and try and take her away. The move by the Governor enraged Republicans across the state.
Then on Monday, one of Murphy’s spokesman said the Governor was not housing anyone, telling the “New York Post” that Murphy was just standing up for someone in his circle of friends. A rep told The Post that Murphy had been “misinterpreted” at the meeting on Sunday.
