(New York) — Dozens of Macy’s locations nationwide are being closed for good. Nearly half of the sixty-six stories are in California, Florida, New York and Texas.

Macy’s landmark store in Philadelphia, inside the famed Wanamaker building on Market Street is one of the more famed locations that will go out of business, as part of the chain’s restructuring plan. Smaller Macy’s department stores in Brooklyn, on Staten Island, in the Bronx and out on Long Island will also close their doors. They are among roughly 150 “underproductive” stores being weeded-out by Macy’s as part of a three-year plan announced about a year ago to return the company to “sustainable, profitable sales growth.” Roughly 350 stores will remain after all of the closings are complete.
