(Leeds, NY) — Hudson Valley Congressman Marc Molinaro is saying farewell to Congress. The Republican thanked his constituents and colleagues on Wednesday as he gets set to leave his post representing New York’s 19th Congressional District. Molinaro lost his bid for a second term in a tight race against Democrat Josh Riley, who will be sworn in next month.
Molinaro, who has held office as Dutchess County Executive, Mayor and was a candidate for New York Governor in 2018, promises to continue a future in public service. Speculation is that he could make a move for Congresswoman Elise Stefanik’s seat, that will likely go vacant if she’s confirmed as UN ambassador in the Trump administration.
