(Harrison, NY) — NTSB investigators will be in the town of Harrison, in the Hudson Valley today after a small plane crashed onto a highway Thursday night, killing one onboard. In audio pulled from air traffic control operators at Westchester County Airport, the pilot of the doomed plane can be heard casually checking in. Moments later, his plane went down onto I-684. No one on the roadway was hurt. One report says the pilot said he had engine problems.
There were also some really frightening moments Thursday night for a plane full of passengers over New York City, after a bird strike took out one of it’s engines. The American Airlines flight had just left LaGuardia, headed for North Carolina when it had ti turn around. The pilot of the aircraft made an emergency landing at Kennedy Airport. No one onboard was hurt.
