(New York, NY) – The CEO of United Healthcare was fatally shot this morning in Midtown. The shooting occurred right outside the Hilton hotel on 6th Avenue. Police say 50-year-old Brian Thompson was arriving early to that hotel for a conference around 6:45 a.m. this morning. That’s when a masked gunman, who was allegedly waiting for him, opened fire on the victim. Thompson was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. No arrests have been made, however officials believe it may have been a targeted attack.
