(Washington, D.C.) – President-elect Donald Trump is quickly filling his cabinet. On Friday (November 22, 2024) Trump nominated George Senator Kelly Loeffler as Secretary of Agriculture and Oregon Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer to lead the Labor Department.
He’s also chosen hedge-fund manager Scott Bessent to lead the Treasury Department and Russell Vought to head the Office of Management and Budget. Vought, who was one of the authors of Project 2025, and served as deputy director of the OMB in Trump’s first administration. Johns Hopkins surgeon Dr. Marty Makary has been nominated to lead the Food and Drug Administration.
President-elect Trump is also naming Dr. Janette Nesheiwat as his nominee for surgeon general. She’s a regular Fox News contributor, and currently works as a medical director at CityMD.
Former NFL player Scott Turner has been nominated to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Turner previously served under Trump as executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council and served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2013 to 2017
