(Arlington, TX) — Mike Tyson says he has no regrets. The boxing legend took to social media after he was defeated by YouTube star Jake Paul in a highly-anticipated boxing match Friday. Tyson said that this is one of those situations when “you lost but still won,” adding he has “no regrets” about getting in the ring one last time. He also revealed that he almost died during his health scare earlier this year, which originally delayed his fight against Paul. Tyson said he had eight blood transfusions, lost 25 pounds in the hospital and had to “fight to get healthy” again.
The boxing champion was defeated in his match against Youtuber, Jake Paul. Paul won by a unanimous decision after the 8 round battle on Friday night.
After the fight, Paul said that he wanted to give fans a show but did not want to throw any unnecessary punches. He also recognized his opponent slowing down, saying that at points the 31-year age difference was noticeable. As for the earnings, Paul walked away with $40 million, and Tyson left his loss $20 million richer.
The fight was streamed on Netflix, who boasted that 60 million households watched the match. Netflix also said 50 million people tuned in for the co-main event between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano – making it the “most watched women’s sporting event in US history”. Taylor won by decision over Serrano.
