Jake Paul Defeats Mike Tyson

(Arlington, TX) – The boxing champion Mike Tyson was defeated in his match against Youtuber, Jake Paul. Paul won after an 8-round fight with each round going for two minutes. Paul was declared the winner by unanimous decision. 

After the fight, Paul said that he wanted to give fans a show but did not want to throw any unnecessary punches. He also recognized his opponent slowing down, saying that at points the 31-year age difference was noticeable. Tyson says he has no regrets getting in the ring one last time, revealing his health scare earlier in the year that delayed the fight was serious and almost cost him his life. As for the earnings, Paul walked away with $40 million, and Tyson left his loss $20 million richer. 

The fight was streamed on Netflix, who boasted that 60 million households watched the match. Netflix also said 50 million people tuned in for the co-main event between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano – making it the “most watched women’s sporting event in US history”. However the blockbuster event also faced its fair share of snafus. Leading up to the action, thousands of users reported issues accessing the stream. Then during the fight, people were still reporting problems with picture quality and lagging. Additionally, at certain points, fans were booing because they wanted more action.
