Sleepy After Election Day? Read This

Feeling sleepy after staying up watching and listening to election night coverage? We've got you covered. November 5, 2024.

(New York, NY) – Many of our listeners undoubtedly stayed up late taking in Election Day coverage. That makes is harder to stay focused at work today, but we’ve got you covered. Online Alarm Kur has come up with some tips to help overcome this sleep-deprived morning.

It all starts in the bathroom — and getting yourself off on the best foot. Experts say the best move is to take a cold shower, even though it’s likely chilly outside. That’s because studies have shown taking cold showers can boost circulation, enhance alertness, and even elevate your mood by boosting endorphins. Many people would shudder — no pun intended — at the thought of a cold shower. In that case, you might try lowering the temperature for the last 30 seconds of each shower, and then gradually increasing that time from there.

Next, we’re going to get your music going. And the recommendation is to choose songs with between 100 and 130 beats per minute. One popular choice is “September” by Earth, Wind, and Fire, checking in at 126 BPM. Or, if you’re looking for something more contemporary — Sabrina Carpenter’s number one hit, “Taste,” has a tempo of 113 BPM.

Breakfast is always an important part of keeping energized and alert — perhaps especially after a long election night. Fiber with slow-release can help keep you at a steady level throughout the day — making oatmeal a wise choice. And you might include sliced banana in the oatmeal — packed with potassium, vitamins, and more fiber — they’re a great source of natural energy. If you’re opting for toast, make it whole wheat bread, topped with eggs and avocado. Tasty and full of energy!

After all, even if you’re preferred candidate won’t be in the White House — you need to remain healthy and focused at work!
