(Austin, TX) — Americans are expected to spend 11-point-six billion dollars on Halloween. That’s according to a National Retail Federation survey. The spending is on costumes, decorations and candy, and even greeting cards. That’s a slight decline from last year’s record 12-point-two billion. Nearly half of Americans surveyed said they started buying Halloween goods before October began.

Google Trends is out with a new ranking of the most searched costume ideas. Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine are popular this year across the country, followed by the Minions from the Despicable Me franchise.  The most common costume search for a real human is Taylor Swift. Sabrina Carpenter is very popular this year too. Sales are brisk for Shrunkenhead Bob from Beetlejuice and Raygun, the Australian breakdancer who became a viral sensation at the Paris Olympics.
