(New York, NY) — New York Governor Kathy Hochul says she will make some moves soon to implement congestion pricing, after she put the toll plan on pause back in the Spring. Hochul says she wants a lower toll for drivers who go below 60th Street in Manhattan. The governor will now work with the state legislature to figure out how to amend the plan by the end of 2024

The MTA says it badly needs the money raised from congestion pricing tolls to fix all that’s wrong with subways, buses and trains.

A new report by the state comptroller finds the MTA has huge operating budget gaps that could soon impact the MTA’s daily operations. The MTA says nothing in the comptroller’s report is surprising to them.
