New Beatles Documentary Coming in November

new-project-1-2

The Beatles arrive in Jacksonville, FL for a concert. September 11, 1964.

(Burbank, CA) – Beatles fans will be firing up their Disney+ subscriptions next month with a brand new documentary set to debut. It’s centered on the Fab Four’s first-ever trip to America. Titled “Beatles ’64” — the doc features rare film footage that’s been restored to 4K quality. In addition, the documentary includes remixes of the band’s famous live performances — both on the Ed Sullivan Show in New York City, and at Washington DC’s Coliseum. Giles Martin, son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin, produced the new mixes.

Of course, 77 WABC has a fun connection to the Beatles’ earliest days in America. Ahead of their legendary performance at Shea Stadium, Bruce Morrow introduced Ed Sullivan, who then brought the Beatles on stage. Morrow, aka Cousin Brucie, also had a chance to interview the Beatles from their hotel room in 1965.

As for the “Beatles ’64” documentary, it’s produced by Martin Scorsese, the legendary filmmaker. Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison and Sean Ono Lennon also get producer credits. The documentary will be available on Disney+ beginning November 29 — Black Friday — so many around the Tri-state will fire it up while burning off a turkey hangover, or heating up leftovers.
