U.N. Gridlock!

syndication-reno-gazette-journal-13

(New York, NY) – A gridlock alert is in effect for New York City for the rest of the week as the United Nations General Assembly gets underway. The NYPD says drivers in Manhattan should be prepared for unexpected street closures and detours at any given time. The President arrived Monday in New York.

All these security measures are in place to protect more than 140 world leaders with law enforcement bracing for protests, especially with the ongoing Israel/Hamas war. Officials say the worst day of traffic is expected to be Tuesday, when President Biden addresses the General Assembly.

Authorities say they are ready for protests and won’t tolerate any property damage. There are no known specific credible threats tied to the UN General Assembly.
