Another Federal Investigation Into Adams Administration

(New York, NY) – Federal investigators are reportedly scrutinizing two individuals with close ties to Mayor Eric Adams: Frank Carone, his former chief of staff, and Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello of the Brooklyn Diocese. A Brooklyn Catholic church has been subpoenaed for information regarding potential business dealings between Carone and Gigantiello, who have been friends for decades.

Sources indicate that federal prosecutors in Brooklyn are in the early stages of investigating any financial transactions between the two, though neither has been charged with wrongdoing. The Brooklyn Diocese confirmed the subpoena and pledged full cooperation with law enforcement.

Carone, who now runs the consulting firm Oaktree Solutions after leaving the mayor’s office, stated he is unaware of any investigation involving him or Gigantiello. Meanwhile, Gigantiello has not commented, but his attorney insists that the monsignor is not a target of any investigation.

Gigantiello, who had previously been a prominent fundraiser for the church, was demoted in 2023 following controversy over a music video filmed in his church without his knowledge. He is also known for his charity pasta sauce line, “A Taste of Heaven.”

The investigation into Carone and Gigantiello comes amid several other federal probes into Mayor Adams’ administration, including inquiries into NYPD leadership and campaign fundraising. Though no charges have been filed, these probes have already led to high-level resignations and phone seizures by the FBI. Federal authorities have declined to comment on the ongoing investigations.
