Rutgers University President Resigns

syndication-the-record-209

Jonathan Holloway is the 21st President of Rutgers.

(New Brunswick, NJ) — The president of Rutgers University says he’s stepping down. After five years at the helm of New Jersey’s largest university, Jonathan Holloway will end his position in June of 2025.

The 57-year old was the school’s first Black president. In a recent interview he said he decided to quit after getting criticism on the job, along with security risks to his family after last year’s professors’ strike and pro-Palestinian encampments on campus.

Holloway made history as the first Black president of Rutgers. He says he’ll leave office on June 30, 2025. He will then take a year-long sabbatical and become a Rutgers professor.
