(Huntington, NY) – Ronald Schroeder, 31, has been arrested and charged with concealment of a human corpse after the remains of Seikeya Jones, also 31, were found stuffed in a suitcase on Long Island. Suffolk County Police arrested Schroeder at Penn Station in Manhattan on Friday. He was also charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance by MTA police.

The suitcase containing Jones’ body was discovered on September 3 in a wooded area behind an apartment building in Huntington. The cause of her death is still under investigation by the medical examiner. Jones, who had been homeless, was reported missing last month, and her friends noted that she had faced challenges and ended up living on the streets.

Residents at the apartment building shared a doorbell video showing Jones entering the building last week with an unidentified man. It remains unclear whether that man was Schroeder or if there is someone else connected to the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad or Crime Stoppers.
