(Queens, NY) – A suspect is in custody linked to the burglary of legendary St. John’s men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino. Emmanuel Yakubov was caught on camera with a second man lurking around the coach’s office in Carnesecca Arena before they made off with some memorabilia.
The 25 year old was arrested on Friday, just days after he and his accomplice made off with a signed basketball, a ceremonial dagger and bull horn. They also managed to take several bottles of alcohol. Yakubov faces several charges including criminal possession of stolen property and burglary. The second suspect remains at large. All the stolen memorabilia has been recovered.
